Carrot Puree

Carrots are an excellent weaning food as babies like their naturally sweet taste.  Carrots are rich in beta-carotene and other nutrients such as Vitamin A, C and calcium.

Serves: 12 ozs Carrot Purée
Age: 4 months old / Baby’s 1st Foods

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Carrots
  • Water

Instructions

  • Wash, peel and cut the carrots into ½ inch pieces.
  • Steam the carrots until tender (usually 15 to 20 mins).
  • Once the carrots are cooked, put them to cool.
  • Reserve the cooking liquid separately.
  • Purée the carrots in a food processor with some of the cooking liquid.
  • Add more of the cooking liquid and blend until the purée is the desired consistency.
  • To make the puree thinner, you may add cooking liquid, water, breast milk, or formula.
